During surgery, small incisions
are made behind the knee within the crease. The surgeon then
creates a pocket within the calves and inserts the implant.
Once completed, the incisions are stitched together and the
surgery is complete.
RECOVERING FROM THIS SURGERY
Compression stockings are placed on the calves after
the procedure that should be worn for about 2-3 weeks. Some
patients experience pain for the first 48 hours after surgery,
but most discomfort resembles the soreness experienced after
an intense calf workout. People with office jobs are able to
return to work within a week or two, but strenuous use of the
legs should be avoided for at least six weeks. Compression
